Our Favorite Birmingham Backdrops
If you spend any amount of time in downtown Birmingham, you’ll easily start to have a running list of cool corners, allies, walls, and streets. Even without any photographic background, you probably know some of your favorite places to snag a great insta photo. We thought we would share a few of our favorites that we might visit in your session, or you can walk to for that perfect selfie.
Birmingham Streets
There are so many streets that work for this type of background. We have several one-way streets right in the middle of all the action in downtown Birmingham, which allows for taking killer images and still being able to see on-coming cars (very important). Even the buildings themselves work well as a place to sit or lean and it really captures a certain mood we love. (Disclaimer: take photos in the streets at your own risk. We have a team of people during our sessions to ensure everyone’s safety.)
Botanical Gardens
This is probably a no brainer for any Birmingham resident. Many people get their rose garden prom photo at some point. But we suggest looking for some less travelled paths in the gardens for more unique images. Bring a good pair of walking shoes and you can be in the greenhouse, on a seemingly forgotten hiking trail, or in a Japanese oasis. Just be respectful of every plant and stay on the walking paths - we want our plant friends to be there for a long time!
Rooftops
It’s no lie - rooftops are our jam. It’s just a really cool way to see the city and your pictures end up being out of this world. It completely embodies that downtown Birmingham vibe. Not every rooftop is accessible to the public, but consider any of the many downtown public parking decks for a multitude of perspectives. There are also places like Vulcan that can give you a unique perspective of the city as well. Don’t worry, our go to roof deck is always an option for our clients!
