Susannah | 2016 Birmingham Senior

Susannah | 2016 Birmingham Senior

It’s graduation month for our class of 2017 Birmingham seniors! We can’t believe it’s that time of year again and that all of our seniors will be crossing that finish line. We know you are all so excited (and we are too)! To celebrate, we are showcasing seniors the entire month on our site and we’re kicking it off with a class of 2016 senior!

Susannah Harvey is a Jefferson County Academy of Theatre and Dance (JCATD) alumni and is currently attending Chicago College of Performing Arts. We are so proud to have been able to create her senior photos and loved seeing her in her element. We may have made her dance throughout the streets of Birmingham, but it was so worth it once the images were finalized. Not to mention, Susannah is such a sweetheart and humble about her talents. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to round out the class of 2016 year!

Check out some of her images below and read a few of her answers to our questionnaire about her senior year and who she is. FYI: don’t try these moves at home 😉

What is the first thing people notice about you?: Usually my eyes because they are really big and I have really long eyelashes. And my height because I am only 5’1.

What is one thing about you that people wouldn’t know just by looking at you?: I appear very outgoing most of the time but I’m actually very shy and introverted.

What are you most looking forward to in your senior year?: Getting to perform in Guys and Dolls as the role of Sarah Brown.

List any activities, hobbies, or sports you participate in. Also mention any interests outside of school that you have.: Musical Theatre, Dance, Singing, Hoover Belles, Reading

What are your plans after high school?: I plan to go to college and major in musical theatre with a minor in dance. After that, I would like to move to New York and pursue a professional theatre career.

What are you the most proud of?: I think I’m most proud of the fact that I auditioned for 17 musical theatre college programs and was able to deal with all of the rejection that usually comes along with it.

Who do you most admire and why?: I most admire Jessie Kisor because he has been such a mentor to me this year. He is kind to everyone and truly cares about all of his students. I don’t think I would have made it so far in the year if it wasn’t for his guidance and help. He’s like a big brother to me and he has done more for me than i could ever express.

How do you define beauty?: Beauty is knowing that you are enough in God’s eyes and being able to live a life filled with kindness and thoughtfulness for others. If you are a beautiful person on the inside, the beauty will shine on the outside as well.
