Where to even begin with this fabulous class of 2017 Birmingham JCIB senior…
Emma is intelligent, quirky, sassy, fashionable, passionate, and adventurous. Her dry humor will have you rolling on the floor, while her fierceness will have your jaw there. She will be graduating from the Jefferson County International Baccalaureate school very soon, and has played soccer (since pre-school) and is a part of the Academic Bowl, ModelUN, and FBLA. We can’t wait to see what else she accomplishes beyond high school!
Along with her normal Darling & Dear senior session, Emma took advantage of our Platinum Senior Session where we were able to photograph her in studio lighting too. It was so fun to have her all dolled up in her favorite prom gown and to see what kind of fun looks we could create (our favorite is the super-hero pose!). Check out some of our favorite images below along with some of Emma’s answers to our questionnaire and see just how spunky she is.
What is the first thing people notice about you?: My height (5’10”) or curly hair
What is one thing about you that people wouldn’t know just by looking at you?: I am a really big nerd. I love watching history documentaries.
What are your plans after high school?: After high-school, I would like to attend a university to pursue a degree in economics. (She’s actually headed to UAB!)
What are you most looking forward to in your senior year?: Our school hosts a senior picnic where they bring in carnival rides. Ever since I was a freshman, I looked on with envy at the senior picnic. It is by far what I am most excited for.
What are you the most proud of?: When I started high school, I made the decision to leave the school system I have always been in, and I chose to attend JCIB. Scared and incredibly nervous, I have now found a home within the school, and I am extremely happy I chose to go there. I am most proud of having the courage to run into something new and face it head on.
Who do you most admire and why?: When I think about who I most admire, I am drawn to strong women who take a stand for what they believe in. One of the most influential women in American history and politics, Eleanor Roosevelt, is a huge role model for me. She stood strong in her convictions in one of the most difficult times in American history and fought tirelessly for overlooked citizens.
How do you define beauty?: To me, beauty is confidence. It does not matter what you wear, as long as you wear it fearlessly. Beauty is the ability to walk into a room and own it no matter what you are wearing.
