Danielle and Christian’s wedding was one of those weddings that you almost can’t even describe to anyone. The atmosphere, the love, the looks, the dancing…words don’t really do any of it justice. We were so thrilled that we were able to share in such a beautiful day, rain and all!
Danielle and Christian were married in Gadsden, Alabama at The Carriage House. It was such a quaint and beautiful place, with little gems around every corner. Our favorite was the cobblestone streets and vintage feel throughout. The day was rainy, but the two pushed through and had the outdoor wedding they wanted anyway. And with a little rain, everyone stood to welcome in the two becoming one.
The best way to get to know how unique and loving and kind this couple is, though, you’ll have to hear it from their mouths. Below are their wedding day photos mixed with some questions they answered for us early on. You saw their engagement pics a little while back, but this has more detail! Check out their beautiful story and share in their sweet day!
Tell us how you first met – the who, what, when, where, why. Give us the dirty details!:
We met at church and a million people tried to set us up and we refused. Then we had to lead a group together in youth (not by choice) and Christian asked me to get coffee 3 times and I told him no every time. He was relentless and I finally asked him to go see Christmas lights with us and the rest is history.
When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something she/she did, said, etc.?:
Danielle: when he told me that his favorite number was 2 because he’d never put himself first.
Christian: I told God not to send anyone else unless she was the one and then we met.
Tell us about the proposal (did you see it coming? how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?):
Christian had the ring for a week, we went to youth camp for a week. The day after we got back (the 4th of July), we spent the whole day with family then went to see fireworks. He was acting super weird and was shaking he was so nervous. It was chilly so I put a blanket on him thinking he was cold, then he made me stand up and I knew. I don’t remember what he said but when he asked me to marry him, my response was, “duhhhhh…” It was perfect. I was so unprepared; I had a glow stick in my hair and was wearing a random John Mayer tank top from like 2009 with my hair barely fixed and no makeup on. Fireworks were going off in the background and the most important people in our lives were there. It was perfect.
